Maitenco is a field owned by Subsole and managed by Terrones. It is located in the Cachapoal Valley, which provides optimal characteristics for superior mid‑season table grapes. This region is characterized by deep, fertile soil, which enables the productive potential of different varieties. Modern irrigation and soil humidity sensors allow for targeted fruit irrigation, resulting in a high‑quality product.
This farm has implemented the use of covers over vines. The goal is to protect the fruit – especially later‑season varieties – in case of pre-harvest rain. Currently, 107 hectares of vines are protected under these covers. Maitenco’s farm has its own packing house called Lainca, which is under Agroservicios Manquehue’s management with an impressive 22,000 boxes of capacity per day.
Maitenco has 218 hectares planted. Green grape varieties represent half of the surface, highlighting new varieties such as AUTUMNCRISP and Timpson, alongside traditional varieties such as Thompson and Superior.
