Agrícola Don Alfonso

This farm, located in the mountainous and desertic area of Chile’s III Región, has optimal conditions for the production of early table grapes. To make the most of this terroir, we grow several varieties of table grapes, both traditional and protected.

The absence of rainfall in this area during the fruit’s growing and harvesting stages -thanks to its location on the edge of the Atacama Desert, the driest place in the world- allows us to naturally have a very healthy product. However, these dry conditions also require us to be very careful with the use of water. To be as efficient as possible with this resource, we have implemented modern irrigation and soil humidity sensors; this allows us to follow in detail the irrigation of the fruit in order to achieve the highest quality with the best use of water.

Another unique feature of this area is the strength that solar irradiation has. We saw this as an opportunity and developed a solar plant to generate all the energy needed for the productive processes of the farm. This photovoltaic plant allows us to generate renewable energy to work on these 198 hectares and produce early, healthy and environmently friendly table grapes.
