Production Zones

Chile’s agricultural areas have excellent conditions for growing walnuts thanks to its cold winters and warm summers, and soils with good drainage which the trees prefer. Chile is also recognized by the low presence of walnut’s pests and diseases affecting production; as a result, the product grown in our country requires fewer chemicals and allows us to offer a healthy walnut with low volume of applications.

Walnuts are grown in Chile from its IV to VIII regions; they do in mountainous areas, in the country’s Central Valley and closer to coastal areas. This allows for a wide range of walnuts to be grown throughout the season.

Putting all of these productive conditions together and also considering that our walnuts are harvested in counter season, and , it’s no wonder that our walnut industry has grown strongly and Chilean growers have become the leading Southern Hemisphere growers of walnuts.
